Starting off this school year, I was super excited to have the same position as last year. I figured that I could improved on what I didn't do well last year. Nico and I already started planning for PowderPuff at the end of the school year last year so we are ready to go. At Club Rush, we held sign ups for coaches, players, and guy cheer. Our next move is to create a remind for each category to send out information for the meeting and practices. Next month will be a busy one.
Standing Committee:
My Standing Committee is Sports Relations, we are in charge of helping Mr. Wright with recognizing all of the sports and all athletes. We haven't done anything yet, but there also hasn't been a rally for fall sports.
Special Committee:
I was not assigned a special committee. I still plan to help out with other committees and sign up for whatever I can.
Concerns:
I currently have no concerns for our leadership class. We all get along well and we all get focused when the concentration is needed. I hope we can bond more as a class and have lot of competitive fun during homecoming and other activities.
Positive Comments:
I am super excited for this class to bond together and take on all the challenges. Everybody in the class is super nice and fun to be around. We have already learned a lot and I can't wait to see what the future holds.
One Change I Would Like To See:
I really wish there was a way to make the junior class more spirited. We really can't control who dresses up anymore. We give out candy to those who dress up, but it just isn't encouraging anybody in our class. We were spirited at the rally, but only because we played games and won. It is hard to lead people when they don't even want to be there in the first place. I hope we can find a way to change our spirit this year.
My Impact:
As always, I say that I want to stay positive and spread positive energy all year long. I want to meet new people and encourage people to be happier themselves. I want to show that it is okay to be yourself and beat the stereotypes. I want to prove to people that you don't need a million friends to feel loved. I have gone through all of these issues myself and I want to help people get through them this year.
September/ October ASB Report
Position Assessment
The months of September and October have been really busy! We planned and executed everything for powderpuff. We had practices, the game, jersey handouts and collection, the meeting, all in these two months. Nico, Anthony, and I had a lot of fun planning the powderpuff game and I hope that next year I can play. I also hosted one foreign exchange student this past week. It was a really fun experience and I hope to do it again next year! Nico, Anthony, and I are going to start putting the rosters up for basketball once the season has started.
Standing Committee
My standing committees are Sports Relations and Senior Nights. Nico and I decided to wait until basketball season to put the rosters and pictures up in the foyer of the north gym. For senior nights, I was unaware that this is a standing committee but I have been trying to go to senior nights but I have been unable to so far.
Special Committee
I’m not 100% sure if this is an official special committee but I believe it should be. For the gratitude video, I have helped with filming and interviewing students around campus. I also helped ask questions when filming. I can’t wait to see how the end result of the video is.
Concerns
My only concern for the two was the junior officers. I’m worried about Winterfest and how they will get things done. Homecoming really stressed me out and I’m not even an officer. I hope to see a change in the way that they communicate and organize things.
One Change I Would Like to See
Although the tri-tip dinner tickets catastrophe was a mess, I hope to see a change in the future. I know personally I can work better with my class but I also believe that if we had more time, we definitely would have made the time to get all of our tickets sold.
Positive Comments
I want to shout out the entire ASB team for working so hard this year. They have been outstanding and each and every one of them has stepped outside of their job requirements to help someone or their class. I really appreciate the hard work and effort that every one of them has put in.
My Impact
These past two months have been an eye-opener for me. I have bonded with some people, even outside of this class, that don’t even live in Ripon. Some of these people care for me more than the people I grew up with do. The realization is that not everyone is going to be there for you and I want to preach to find those people, no matter when you met them, that will make you feel loved and appreciated every single day. They have helped me with some of my toughest struggles and I truly do appreciate it.
November/December ASB Report
December 16, 2019
Position Assessment
Thus far, I have completed Powderpuff and the Fall sports season is almost complete. Nico, Anthony, and I need to update the bulletin board in the North gym. I plan on contacting all coaches for a roster of each team. We also are working on getting newspaper articles. We are happy with how Powderpuff turned out and I can’t wait to actually play next year. We will soon start preparing for dodgeball to make sure it is better and more successful than last year.
Standing Committee
My standing committees are Senior Nights and Sports Relations. We are starting to collect newspapers, rosters, and pictures for the shadowbox in the foyer. Senior nights doesn't have any events until Winter sports are over.
Special Committee
My special committee is also Senior Nights. We are currently not busy or doing anything because Winter sports just started.
Concerns
I am only concerned for all of the classes' progress on winterfest. I have not been asked to help with anything but when everyone presented, they seemed like they had little to nothing completed thus far.
Change
We don't have enough people speaking up for themselves this year. There haven't been any disagreements or debates. Some may see this as a good thing, but I see it as a problem because nobody is speaking up for what they really want.
Positive Comments
I want to praise Laila for always working her tail off. She is constantly helping around the class, while also constantly working on making rallies better each time. I have never heard her complain about how much work she has to do and I respect her for that.
Impact
I want to be seen as a hard worker. Although I may not be ranked number one in my entire class, or be the best athlete at the school, I want people to know that I still work hard. I am constantly doing my work and studying for tests. I also hustle in practice and do anything to make myself better.
